Marieke’s perspective on life is inspiring, intuitive and infectious.  Her message is honest, raw – and fundamentally comes from lived experience.  Knowing her personally, I can attest to the power of Marieke’s teaching – and how much of her success comes from her own ability to open up to the Universe.  As someone who has been through both invigoratingly positive and heartbreakingly low times, I believe in the importance of embracing your own story.  Marieke teaches us how to do this; how to become empowered in the most challenging of times – while also teaching how to unearth natural skills of leadership, self-belief and positive manifestation.  I wholeheartedly recommend spending some time with her lessons.

Seamlessly blending honesty, empathy and empowered management, Marieke delivers a style of leadership that in itself is a masterclass. Drawing on extensive and varied personal experience and growth, she is able to mentor others to face their fears and achieve their goals. Her passion and drive to achieve, and help others to do so, is infectious and comes from a beautifully humble and honest place. We can all learn a lot from Marieke. I certainly have.

What a humble, determined, kind natured, courageous soul Marieke is. I truly believe she was born to facilitate, organise and influence others in a positive, nurturing and secure manner. Judgement of people is not in Marieke’s being, her heart is simply too big for this. Judgement of situation however is one of Marieke’s strengths, she will think, process options (at an amazing speed) while remaining calm and supportive, allowing the natural flow for resolution to come to light. What Marieke is offering here will assist and guide you to empower your world, to help you feel safe and comfortable, ready to welcome more light into your life. I feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful woman in my world and I know you will too.

I have worked alongside Marieke since 2013. During this time, her self-journey of discovery of who she really is – her true self – has been incredible, and inspiring. In our line of work, as Expedition Guides, we share very intense moments together – from witnessing intense beauty to struggling through some very scary events. But at all times, Marieke remains a calm, guiding leader that holds the team together and striving towards the same positive goal. She has the rare gift of being able to bring the best out of people, and get them to strive to do better. She is a leader in the true sense of the word, and a great teacher in the way to move forward in your life and achieve your ultimate goals.

Marieke is a beautifully empowered woman. I have been lucky enough to know her for the last 4 years, and during that time, she has expressed such amazing grace and courage as a leader. She is thoughtful and decisive, and considers every option/outcome before making a decision. As an Expedition Leader, she was challenged to lead a trip through a politically unstable country, and although plans changed almost hourly she was able to adapt and keep a group of over 200 people happy on their journey down the west coast of South America. She is a problem solver and throughout her own journey she has learned much of what life has to offer her. She is an inspirational human and one that is totally down to earth and goofy at times. You won’t regret spending time with Marieke, as she will inspire you to be the best version of yourself.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Marieke for the last two years in a variety of destinations around the world while lecturing aboard expedition cruise ships. Marieke is an excellent person to work alongside with and be led by – she’s communicative, inclusive, considerate, thoughtful, forthright and fair. She also has travelled extensively so she has an excellent and balanced world-view. All attributes that are, in my opinion, very much indicative of someone with excellent leadership attributes and skill. Marieke’s life and self-leadership platform where she’s utilising her skills and experience for the benefit of others is thoroughly commendable and I couldn’t really imagine a better and more appropriate person to do this.

I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of working for Marieke Egan aboard the Silver Explorer. Marieke was amazing at inspiring us to do our best. She was firm with expectations and held us to them but also took extra time to schedule the team members to have a chance to lead the trips they desired most.  I felt like I learned so much working for Marieke and would seek out being on her team anytime. She has a unique leadership quality that makes learning, challenging yourself, doing your best, and helping the team an infectious norm and she helps foster a family style workplace that breeds success. She is an all star!!

I have worked at sea with Marieke when she was Expedition Leader. She has a unique leadership style that combines confidence, quick decision making and strength under pressure, with good humour, flexibility and care for her staff. Marieke has a way of getting the best out of people and achieving a wonderful team spirit. I was always impressed by how well she could motivate everyone and inspire loyalty. I have seen her handle really challenging situations in politically unstable areas and still keep everyone safe and her guests happy. That is a skill that few people possess. She has definitely earned my respect and we can all learn a lot from Marieke.

I have worked with Marieke for two years onboard with the expedition team on Silversea ships: It is a pleasure to work with Marieke. As expedition leader she has an internal calmness that is contagious. Even though circumstances can be challenging, she can address issues in a calm, humane manner, considering all parties involved, with kindness, without compromising on operational logistics. She is a caring leader who can take advice and implement it well into operations. She has a warm and respectful way with people. Marieke has a great sense of humor and a phenomenal sense of teamwork.

Javier Gonzalez Sanz, Costa Rica, Expedition Logistics

I had the pleasure to work with Marieke as my colleague during a few occasions on board expedition ships, but last year I had the opportunity to also work with her as our team expedition leader. I must say it was a great experience, one of the best expedition leaders I’ve worked with so far. We were sailing the South American Pacific coast, repositioning for our upcoming Antarctic season. Chile was going through street riots and demonstrations that made our operation in all the Chilean ports very difficult. We had to go from plan A to B, C and at times even plan D. She never lost her composure, nor with the team nor with our guests. Her calm attitude, positive approach, pre-planning and understanding of the situation made a big difference, and we were able to deliver 99% of the activities we had planned for our guests. I learned a lot from her, but if I have to choose two of her many skills; one will be having foresight of things before they happen and her contagious positive attitude.
